South East Rendering can applying a high quality render coat to external walls of your property, this is a cost-effective way to give your property a makeover, especially if if the exterior is in poor condition, unattractive or you have mismatched surface materials. There are several options available to choose from, depending on your budget and the required look. Rendering can be fine or coarse, textured or smooth, natural or coloured, pigmented or painted. Different finishes can be created by using different tools such as trowels, sponges, or brushes. Some options available are listed below-
Mineral based render such as Monocouche is generally applied to masonry substrates. It is a cost-effective solution that can often be applied in one coat making it quick to apply. It also dries much quicker than most other renders so if weather conditions are humid or wet mineral render can be a good option for your project.
Lime based render is often used on properties constructed with lime mortar beds and solid wall construction. It has little to no cement content and is generally more flexible with better and allows older properties to breathe.
Suitable for large properties where maintenance could be a problem. Thin-coat acrylic and silicone renders are also suited to refurbishment projects where cracking has been an issue in the past. When applied with a base coat and full mesh, acrylic and silicone renders out perform any other system as they have “self-cleaning” abilities.
This is the traditional render used on external walls. Render is mixed on site before being applied in two or three coats. The base coats are scored when they are still wet to give a key for the next layer. The top coat is applied more thinly and given a shiny finish, ready for painting. Cement renders require regular repainting to maintain its look.
